most people are forgetting one important thing which renders all preorder items to the status of an *it looks neat item*
anybody getting the game will find AT EVERY LEVEL some weapon of equal value to them as the preorder item GUILD WARS = BALANCE |

They have a new item for everyone. It's a chimeric prism, or something I think. Increases primary attribute.

"CompUSA Exclusive in-game weapon - the "Bone Idol" - It is used as a shield and also increases energy for all professions. However the items grows in strength for the Necromancer class and their Death magic attribute; making this a desired item for this specific profession."
from CompUSA's GW Pre-order information Link Here I thought it was interesting/cool that CompUSA put a link to order the pre-order on their E-Mail advertisement, but I digress. First off, it seems their wrong, at least in part... Off-hand items can't act as shields and as focus, unless they mean 'shield' as in being used in addition to a weapon, and kinda looking like a shield... so maybe they just used the wrong terminology. Second, from that description it gives a bonus to Death magic and an energy boost, now figure if the Prism works the same way, its innately better than any other preoder item available to casters, I do not want to get into items available in the game seeing as none of us even know what all is going be available in retail (or, perhaps some do know but they can't/won't tell... meanies ). And lastly, what other item gives a bonus to your primary attribute? None. Their all pluses to other attributes. |

It doesn't really matter whether the preorder items are good or not, there will always be something better you find in your explorations. At least that???s what I've noticed.
I've found unique items that were great, a warrior hammer that did 10-14 damage and +20% to armor piercing, and thought that this was all I needed, that I was set for life, so to speak. But then I found a normal hammer that did 14-18 damage and +20% more damage. So I changed weapons and continued on. Haven't missed my hammer since and know I'll find a better one out there then the one I have now. That seems to be the way the game is going to work. |

How does the Pre-order weapon work?
I have already pre-ordered my game from EB and I am very curious as how this will work. Does this weapon only go to one of your characters? Lets say I have 4 characters created do I get the weapon for all 4 of them or just 1? If only 1 character can get it, will it let me choose who I want to give it to? I really dont want my necro with a bow. I have a element/ranger who I would really want the bow for. So does anyone have an idea yet?

I believe the bow goes to all characters made before the release. so Yes you can have more than one. Also, The bow would be no more useful to the Elem/Ranger than to the Necro. The bow's effects only work if you are a primary ranger(It's still better than the first few bows you can get for awhile, though). Just to let you know.

hmmm from what I can tell. The preorder items aren't "that" special. You don't have to worry "that" much if it doesn't go to the right character. Though I don't know how it will work, but I can garuntee that it'll be obsolete and you'll find a better bow in no time at all. So unless you really really think the level 1 bow is all that great then uh... sorry I wasn't much help

I'm pretty sure it goes to every character you make on that account. Same for Divine Aura.

all the special items are "account" based
both pre-order ones and the aura. so every characters in that specific account will have special items. any profession will be able to use pre-order special items |

Acourding to the information I have read, you will get your weapon with every character you create in your account.

Whenever a new character is made on your account, they will have your special item(s). That's a fact.
As for their usefulness, nothing has been said. What has been suggested and assumed, however, is that they won't be good enough to worry about. They will be good enough to think 'oh cool' when you play a character that can/will use it, but it won't be good enough that you think 'aw, man' when you play a character that can't. P.S. Don't fall into the trap I did, and think you have to make your character based on the pre-order item(s) you're getting if you want any chance to benefit. You won't have an advantage with them. |

Skimmed the thread so if this is answered somewhere point me at it...
I bought the pre-order at Fry's. They were selling them as a product alone, just go back with receipt and you get 10 dollars off on the released program. Well, that was before the collectors edition was publically known (5 betas ago). Now I went to eb games (who i begged to let me buy their pre-orders cheap and they told me no way--was gonna give out the friends codes on the thread with all the people wanting a code.) Anyway, while I was there I plunked down the 86 bucks to buy the collectors edition as a preorder and, low and behold, they were out of preorder packages anyway. He actually wanted to stop the transaction and then I asked if I can pre-order the Collector's Edition anyway, he said they take pre-order sure. Well...Hahahaha...The question is....hahahaha....Okay, did my pre-order without getting the pre-order package qualify me for the divine aura and the ithas bow or am I stuck with just a 10 dollar discount from Frys on the regular version? Anyone who knows the answer to this, even the Shadow , would be appreciated. |

I been wanting to ask Gaile, however she hasn't been present the last couple days sooooo....here I am!
Sure hope there isn't some correlative of the pre-order software to the delivered release, I doubt it because it would be a pain considering how many they have to release how fast. Yet, until told how it is for a fact, I can only think I will certainly get the divine aura, but as far a the bow I might be out of luck |

I scanned this thread fairly well and didn't see my particular issue, so please forgive if this has been answered already. I bought the preorder from Best Buy back in like, January. I got my preorder package and all was well in the world. Now Best Buy has cancelled my order and refunded my money because they "failed to deliver my order in a timely manner" (duh, preorder). So now I have preordered the CE from EB Games. What I want to know is this: Will I get the preorder item from Best Buy,since that is the account I've been playing the betas on, from EB, since that is the account I will be using at launch, or from both, as I have both preorder packages? Thanks for any input.
